ECO FEIRA DE SANTANA

The preservation of the environment and search for solutions to environmental problems is the responsibility of government, as well as of private institutions, civil society organizations and citizens. This action in defense of the Environment becomes more effective when undertaken with proper planning and methods.
Among the goals of the Environmental Awareness Program of the Municipality of Feira de Santana is the promotion of environmental education in order to raise awareness among different social actors to consolidate behavior and practices that encourage citizenship and Environmental preservation.

WHY HOLD THE EVENT?

The current trend is of higher demand now that the world unites in defense of human survival, focusing on fighting the drastic effects of man's occupation of the Earth, degrading water resources, soil and unplanned occupation of protected areas, leading to scarcity of natural resources. Based on this reality, it is essential to collectively mobilize through environmental education in schools and the community at large in order to present a more optimistic view of the planet's future.

 Presentation

ECO FEIRA DE SANTANA 2012 will be essentially an environmental, social and cultural event. It will give the population the opportunity to see the projects, programs and actions developed by various segments of society, such as governmental, non governmental and private initiatives, which emphasize on the importance and adoption of sustainable practices.
It will be held from June 02 to 05, 2012 and will be a mark for the city, which has struggled to preserve the environment. This should also be a mark for all who seek improvement, and awareness of the need for investment in quality of life and strengthening of economic growth, focused on sustainable development through the improvement of environmental education.
In this context, the fair will show the practical results of this vision and point out the changes that will come with the education and participation of every citizen in the qualitative environmental  process.

OBJECTIVES

INDUSTRY: Enable companies in the region, through institutional stands, to present their environmental conservation projects and what they are doing to improve company-environment-ecology relations;

AWARENESS: assist social groups and individuals to obtain global and local environmental awareness through the presentation of workshops, lectures, drama plays and social actions focused on the environment;
BEHAVIOR: help social groups and individuals to commit themselves to a series of values, becoming concerned with and interested in the environment, encouraging them to participate actively in the improvement and protection of the environment;
